To celebrate my recent early retirement I’m hosting a March Madness Basketball Tournament Challenge – With PRIZES! You can win shares of my favorite dividend growth stock – Realty Income (O). March Madness and Realty Income – Woot! You gotta love it! What? Don’t follow college baskeball? No worries, trust me I have been filling out brackets for a long time and you have just as good a chance to win as anyone else!

The dollar amount of the prizes will be based on the closing price of Realty Income on the day of the championship game. As of today ‘O’ closed near its 52 week high at $71.24. If you don’t buy Realty Income with the prize money because it’s overpriced I completely understand. You could certainly use the winnings to buy a different dividend growth stock that is a better value right now or wait for Realty Income’s price to pull back.

Realty Incomes current dividend yield is 3.80% still not too shabby, but a pullback to its current estimated fair value of $59 per share would increase the dividend yield to 4.58%. Its 10 year average dividend growth rate is 4.5%, but the company has a policy of paying dividends monthly and raising them quarterly, so it compounds at a faster rate. Also, Realty Income has raised its dividend for 25 consecutive years reaching the dividend champion status!

How to Enter

• Be a member the DividendGeek.com website, if you are already a member just login
• Once logged in from the Menu bar go to: Slack > Slack Invite, and join our new ‘Dividend Geek’ Slack workspace (you’ll want to do this even if you don’t enter the basketball tournament challenge).
• Go to the ‘march-madness’ channel (see red arrow on screenshot below) in the ‘Dividend Geek’ Slack workspace, the invitation link for our NCAA Basketball Challenge group was posted by me on Thursday, March 14th.
• Fill out your March Madness bracket before the tournament starts! Boom you’re ready to go!

Oh BTW I will be in the competition, but only for bragging rights, (which can be very harsh) 😉
